The Taiwan Livestock Research Institute is an R & D (research and development) unit for livestock and poultry production under the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan. Results in the fields of breeding and genetics, physiological biotechnology, feed nutrition, forage crops, processing and utilization, management and waste resource in 2004 and 2005 have been accomplished through the execution of research projects, industry service, technology guidance and information extension. With the advent of knowledge economy, these results have been managed and applied through breed registration, intelligence property right, technology transfer, academic-industry cooperation, innovation and incubation, training and study, seminar, technical service, panel testing, information transfer and paper presentation etc. We are certain that these efforts will further the availability of research and development resources. We would like to see more active interaction among the industry, government and academies in the years to come. We have taken pains in compiling materials for this booklet so they could be used for search, application and reference. We greatly appreciate your comments and suggestions.
