本次特展以「永續經國」為名，旨在彰顯經國先生勤懇務實深耕臺灣四十年，帶領臺灣推動經濟與政治改革、突破逆境締造舉世矚目經濟奇蹟的貢獻，溯其精神，即在「永續經營」國家的理念。展覽共分十一個單元，由其成長、學習、居家、親民、行政與外交歷練、乃至領導國家，展現其不同階段的生命史。
