書籍介紹
本書為高雄市立美術館主辦之同名展覽專輯，在高雄市立美術館展覽時間為2019年10月26日至2021年10月11日。「南方」在歷史與文化的想像空間裡，相對於北方，多隱含有游離於主體、中心、主流等強勢文化之「邊界」的寓意與詮釋。高美館提出「South Plus」－大南方的概念，意圖做出翻轉。以典藏常設展為理念設立「大南方多元史觀特藏室」，展覽首部曲「南方作為相遇之所」，透過館藏1930年代至1960年代之經典作品，以及相關文獻、檔案，探討南方概念之形塑和可能性；並期經由常態式典藏展讓市民逐步認同美術館，看見南方獨特的藝術表現風貌與發展脈絡，同時透過藝術構築人們對高雄的城市圖像記憶。
