Jonathan P. Evans is a Research Fellow at Academia Sinica. His recent work primarily focuses on identifying cross-linguistic phonetic and phonological properties of pitch. He has also employed integrated phonetic and phonological approaches to address issues related to tonogenesis and uvularization. In addition, he collaborates closely with native speakers on text-based descriptions of languages spoken in Northeast India, contributing to the documentation and analysis of underdescribed languages in the region.
